SPLINTER CELL's Sam Fisher May Invade WATCH DOGS LEGION's London Sometime Next Year

Take it with a grain of salt, but chances are that Sam Fisher — one of Ubisoft's most popular characters and the main protagonist of the beloved Splinter Cell series — will make an appearance in Watch Dogs Legion.

During a recent Q&A session on Reddit, Watch Dogs Legion Live Producer Lathieeshe Thillainathan — who previously served as a project coordinator on Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist — hinted at the possibility of Sam Fisher invading the cross-gen production's dystopian recreation of London at some point next year.

Considering that Watch Dogs Legion is being helmed by none other than Clint Hocking himself — who also supervised the development of 2005's Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory — the veteran spy joining the threequel's roster of playable characters at some point in the future definitely wouldn't come as a shock.

It's worth remembering that the French studio has already confirmed that Aiden Pearce — the main hero of the original game — and Wrench — the eccentric deuteragonist of the follow-up — will get their own mini-campaigns during the title's post-launch phase. Unfortunately, the Bloodline story won't be playable without the first season pass. Said package is included in both Gold Edition ($99.99) and Ultimate Edition ($119.99).

Although 2013's Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist remains the last major entry in the once-great franchise Ubisoft has produced, Fisher has since appeared in many big-budget games as a guest character, including Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands and Breakpoint, Elite Squad, and (most recently) Rainbow Six: Siege.
