HALO INFINITE Skips The Game Awards 2020 as 343 Industries Are Focusing on a "High-Level Update"
343 Industries has some bad news for fans of the Halo series who would like to learn a little bit more about the cross-gen production — which was officially announced by Microsoft at E3 2018 — in the near future.
The studio has revealed that Halo Infinite is skipping The Game Awards 2020 — this year's most prestigious (and potentially biggest) gaming event — which means that you can forget about seeing it on Dec. 11. The game won't be shown off to the general public anytime soon, but it doesn't mean that 343 is wasting time, as the Infinite team is working hard on "a high-level update" that may be game-changing (quite literally).
According to Community Director Brian Jarrard, the development team at 343 Industries is hoping to "offer at least a high level update within the next few weeks so we can kind of restart this journey together after the holidays. Pulling together something like a demo or big beat for the VGAs is an enormous amount of work and would cause challenges with current milestones of the holidays. I know it's hard to wait, but the team is going to make the most of this extra time and we want to make sure we can put our best foot forward and commit to greater transparency and dialog on the road ahead. "

The last time we have seen Halo Infinite, it pretty much looked like a game from the long-gone X360 era — as the horrendous face of an alien soldier (now known as Craig the Brute) is the only thing anyone remembers from the game's latest presentation — so let's just hope the company won't waste the chance to redeem themselves after 2015's Halo 5: Guardians.
Although we still have no idea when Halo Infinite will make its debut, the good news is that the PC port of 343 Industries' first big Halo title — 2012's Halo 4 — is finally available on Steam and the Microsoft Store.
