Rockstar May Be Working on Next-Gen Version of RED DEAD REDEMPTION and Its Sequel
Take it with a grain of salt, but there's a small chance that Rockstar is working on Red Dead Redemption: The Outlaws Collection, an upgraded version of 2010's Red Dead Redemption and 2018's Red Dead Redemption 2.
According to Amazon France, Red Dead Redemption: The Outlaws Collection is a real deal, and will arrive on PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series at some point in 2021 (as the leaked Dec. 31, 2021 release date is most definitely a placeholder). That's right, said collection will reportedly be available for the old consoles as well.
The listing reveals that the new edition of Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Redemption 2 will introduce huge visual and technical enhancements, including ray tracing and faster loading times on the new systems.
Interestingly enough, the rumoured remake of the Red Dead Revolver sequel also features a bunch of never-before-seen quests and heroes, which would be a welcome change as we're talking about a decade-old title.
Although it would be great to re-experience the glory of Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Redemption 2 on modern hardware with a bunch of major graphical and quality-of-life improvements, the bad news is that the team at Amazon France has a reputation for posting listings that have literally nothing to do with reality.
Rockstar Games had not shared any official plans to make The Outlaws Collection at the time of this writing.
