Destructive Creations Explains Why WAR MONGRELS Takes Place on the Eastern Front

The team at Destructive Creations has released a brand-new trailer for War Mongrels, shining more light on the isometric real-time tactics game's unique setting — the (often overlooked) Eastern Front of World War II.

In War Mongrels, you will take control of two Wehrmacht soldiers who decide to turn their back on the Nazi propaganda machine and kill their old brothers in arms one by one. During their journey, the duo will learn that appearances can be deceptive — and also that some mistakes can never be corrected — the hard way.

"Our goal here is not to educate you, there is almost no “hard knowledge” in the video," the Polish video game developer and publisher said. "We wish to give you some of the general emotions we feel about those times, to encourage you to dig deeper. Did you think the death toll in Western Europe was tremendous? Watch and think again. The history is full of nuances and the judgement depends on who's looking at it. This is why we are making War Mongrels, [...] where many views will collide."

For those unfamiliar with War Mongrels, it's a completely original real-time strategy game developed by the team responsible for Ancestors LegacyIS Defence, and Hatred. Destructive Creations' next big production will be arriving on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC (via Steam) in Q3 2021.
