PROJECT GENESIS: GEMINI Update Introduces New Ice Map, Weapon Tweaks, and Training Mode

8 Circuit Studios has released a bunch of new details about the next step in the evolution of their Project Genesis, an original hybrid of a modern FPS and a third-person space shooter — basically think Star Wars Battlefront meets Dreadnought. What's even better, said next phase is officially kicking off today.

The major Gemini update is now available on PC, as Project Genesis has just gotten closer to the finish line.

According to the Seattle-based video game developer and publisher, the newly released — and completely free for existing players — content drop introduces "a brand-new ice map, upgraded ship designs and weapon refinements, an experimental AI bot training mode, and the integration of a new mini map."

If you're still not sure whether the fresh first-person shooter will suit your taste, 8 Circuit Studios has good news to share with you — Project Genesis will be available for purchase at a 66% discount during the next Steam Lunar New Year Sale (the fast-approaching sale will begin on February 11 and run to February 15).

For the first time ever, 8 Circuit Studios will also allow all newcomers to join the development team during a series of free open playtest sessions. If you want to "test the full spectrum of what Project Genesis has to offer," be sure to request access on the game’s Steam page right now.

Project Genesis has been available in Early Access for almost a year now, so chances are that its final version will make its long-awaited debut at some point this year. As a reminder, the game is being developed by a group of industry veterans from the likes of Eidos Montréal, 343 Industries, Monolith, and Wargaming.
